Senior Elisha Kekacs won her section in the 100 (14.24) and 400 meter-hurdles (1:02.18), but was second overall in each event, losing to unattached participants. She was the first collegian to cross the finish line in both events and set a new school record in the 100 meter-hurdles. She missed breaking the 400 meter-hurdle school record, which she owns, by one second. Utah had three top ten finishes in the hammer throw. Katherina Gallahar won the event with a throw of 168 feet, 11 inches, followed by Chantel Goldsberry in third place (155' 1.0") and Audrey Kiser in sixth (136' 9.0"). Kiser won the shot put with a throw of 43' 11.0". Mindy Wilder (138' 4.0") and Erianne Allen (125'11.0") finished fourth and seventh, respectively, in the javelin. Wilder was the top collegiate competitor in that event. The women's relay team finished second in the 4x100 meter relay (49.41) and the 4x400 meter relay (3:54.82) and freshman Daisy Freedman placed third (19:35.21) in the 5,000 meters. Catherine Scalley placed third (18' .50") in the long jump followed by Kristy Slade in fourth place (17' 7.75") and Alexandria Nash in fifth (17' 4.75"). |
