Utah had several top finishes from its upperclassmen as well as impressive first-time performances from its freshman class. Seniors Elisha Kekacs and Johanna Nielsen each had third place finishes in their respective events. Kecaks ran the 400 meters in 59.33 seconds to place third. She also finished 14th in the 60 meter-hurdles with a time of 9.10. Nielsen placed third in the 3,000 meters running the race in 10:10.86. Senior co-captains Chris Merkley and Travis Hildebrand placed fourth and fifth in the men's 3,000 meters with times of 8:37.20 and 8:38.00, respectively. Junior Adam Stark finished 11th in the mile run with a time of 4:24.93. Freshmen Autumn Spence, Alexandria Nash, Kristy Slade and Tracy Hamblin all had strong performances in their first collegiate competition, while sophomore Catherine Scalley placed seventh in the long jump (17' 3") for Utah. |
