The Density Distribution of New Snow

Update Item Information
Title The Density Distribution of New Snow
Subject Avalanches; Snow mechanics; Snow surveys
Description This report sets forth, mainly in graphic form, the density values of 24-hour snowfalls as recorded at several avalanche study sites in the conterminous United States and Alaska. Investigation of the records was originally initiated to answer the question of just what constitutes a "normal" or "average" new snow density in a given area.
