Title History of the Utah National Guard : 1894-1954
Date 1973
Description Most of the Utah Guardsmen who had been called to active duty on March 3, 1941, had served with the units assigned to the 40th Division, but another part of them--and no less important--served in units which were assigned to different armies and to different campaigns. These units included the 145th Field Artillery Battalion, the 204th Field Artillery Battalion, the 815th Tank Destroyer Battalion and the 225th Field Artillery Battalion. Basic numbers of Utah Guardsmen made up these units initially and some served throughout the war period in these units. Two of the units+-the 145th Field Artillery and the 204th Field Artillery--would bring their colors back to Utah and the lineage and heritage would be carried by the state in battles in Korea and in the years afterwards.
