Description Involuntary job loss is a phenomenon that is continuing to grow in the United States. This phenomenon is impacting millions of Americans negatively. I sought to answer the question "What are the experiences of men and women across the Wasatch Front who have experienced involuntary job loss"? I conducted a qualitative research project interviewing six women who have been impacted by involuntary job loss across the Wasatch Front. The interview questions were primarily open-ended, semi-structured question seeking to learn about the experiences of each participant. Each participant had her own unique story to share. I was able to listen to participants and share their journey through their experience with involuntary job loss. Though each participant had her unique experience there were some commonalities amongst all the; participants. Four common themes emerged from the data amongst all of the participants: 1) Surprise, 2) What a horrific experience, 3) It is all about the money, 4) A positive outcome. My recommendations include tips and tricks with help finding new employment, a support group, and resources aiding in finding employment in addition to emotional and financial support. I also recommend additional research be completed.
