Description Various handwritten notes regarding Jacob Hamblin by Juanita Brooks. Also includes transcribed copies of "Dearest Niti"; a program from the dedication and ribbon cutting of the Jacob Hamblin Pioneer Home; Juanita Brooks Remarks at the Dedication of the Jacob Hamblin Home; "The Hamblin House"; "Some References to the Activities of Jacob Hamblin"; and a complete copy of "Jacob Hamblin" by Bert Fireman which was a talk presented at the family reunion of descendants of Jacob Hamblin in February 5, 1961 at Mesa, Arizona. Also contains the transcribed journal of Jacob Hamblin from the original journal in the files of the L.D.S. Church Historian, Salt Lake City, Utah. The journal, which was written in an old notebook, consists of two initial pages, both sides of which are blank except for a penciled note, "Jacob Hamblin's Journal, 1854-1855-1856-1857" on the front leaf of each of the two sheets, and in another handwriting than Hamblin's (probably Andrew Jenson's), and 56 additional numbered pages. Pages 106 are missing, as are pages 39-40.
