Description THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC IMPACTS OF THE OGDEN RIVER RESTORATION 4 INTRODUCTION Thirty-five miles long and connecting the northern Wasatch mountains to the Great Salt Lake, the Ogden River plays a critical role in the regional hydrologic system. It provides a myriad of ecosystem services, such as water infiltration and purification, biomass storage, and riparian habitat, and it is a key place for human recreation. However, the Ogden River, like many other urban rivers in today's world, 1 faces degradation. Restoration strategies are essential to protect the key ecological services and habitat provided by the river.
