Description Peripapillary wrinkles (PPW,"Paton's folds") is a time-tested sign of optic disc edema. We have observed that PPW are more evident in adduction than primary or abduction. Occasionally PPW not otherwise present in primary, become evident only in adduction. This report examines the frequency, mechanism and clinical utility of this novel clinical sign of papilledema.
