Description The Maurice Abravanel Distinguished Visiting Composer Series was founded in 1993 at the University of Utah as a tribute to the influential conductor and an alternative to the university's recently expired composer-in-residence program. Conceived and coordinated by Morris Rosenzweig, Professor Emeritus in music composition, and partly underwritten by the Joseph and Evelyn Rosenblatt Charitable Trust, the series has brought many notable composers to the University of Utah and the greater Salt Lake City community to oversee performances of their works and give lectures and lessons to students. This poster advertises Augusta Read Thomas and Wayne Peterson's visit and the concert of their works on February 22, 2011 in Dumke Recital Hall at the University of Utah.
