The No. 27-ranked Utah women's cross country team placed third at the Steve T. Reeder Memorial Friday afternoon. Redshirt sophomore Emma Christensen led the Utes finishing in 10th place. Christensen finished the five-kilometer course in a time of 18:51.11. This is Christensen's highest finish of the season. Following in Christensen was sophomores Astrid Lindgren and Ashley Licata. Lindgren finished in 15th place with a time of 19:17.44 while Licata earned 22nd place with a time of 19:53.80. Rounding out the top five scorers for the Utes was junior Anna Busatto and senior Makenzie Clark. Busatto captured 28th with a time of 19:55.22 and Clark placed 37th in a time of 20:28.06. Competing unattached for the Utes was freshman Brooke Manson. Running in her first collegiate race, Manson finished in 24th with a time of 19:42.68. As a team, the Utes finished in third place with a total of 93 team points. Ninth-ranked BYU captured the meet title with 19 total team points while meet host and 20th-ranked Utah State earned second place with a total of 42 team points. Finishing behind Utah was the College of Idaho with 99 team points and Westminster with 132 team points. |
