Under perfect weather conditions on the second day of the Arizona State Invitational, the Utah women's track and field team swept the podium of the 800m race with a dominating performance. In the 800m, the Utes dominated the day as they captured the first four places. Leading the charge was junior Amanda Mergaert clocking a first-place time of 2:10.11. Freshman Ali Eisenbeiss finished right on the heels of Mergaert with a second-place time of 2:10.58. Crossing the line third was Rosalie Griffin with a time of 2:10.71. On her second throw, Destanae Howerton-Davis set a personal record with a mark of 152-03 feet to finish ninth overall. With that throw, Howerton-Davis moved into the third best all-time performance passing Sidni Taylor's mark in 2005. In the shot put, the Utes earned three of the top-10 spots. Nikkie Rudder finished first for the Utes and fifth overall with a throw of 47-8.00 feet.
