At the conclusion of the first day of the Aztec Invitational, senior Brianna LeRoy is in third place of the heptathlon. LeRoy started the day clocking a time of 14.63 in the 100m hurdles. The second event of the heptathlon featured LeRoy in the high jump earning a mark of 5-9.25 feet. In the shot put, LeRoy recorded a throw of 34-07 feet. The final event of day one was the 200m where LeRoy clocked a time of 25.54 seconds. LeRoy concluded the first day in third with 3,135 points. With three events remaining, San Diego State's Allison Reaser leads the pack with the 3,269 points. The meet was cut short due to bad weather before the shot put, discus, and pole vault events. Before the action was canceled, the Utes competed in the 400m. Junior Lauryn McKay was first for the Utes and sixth overall finishing in 58.72 seconds. Alyssa Johnson earned 12th overall clocking a time of 1:00.15 for the Utes. In her first 100m hurdles race of the season, Angela Kaplar got off to a good start. Kaplar struggled on the final three hurdles, but clocked a fourth-place time of 14.14 seconds. |
