Junior Alyssa Abbott competed in heat three of seven in the 1500m run, finishing first in the race with a time of 4:27.62, missing her personal best time by two seconds. Freshman Amanda Mergaert competed in the fifth heat of the race, finishing third with a new personal best time of 4:30.19. In the 800m run on Saturday, sophomore Lucy Yates competed in the fifth heat for fifth place (13th overall) with a time of 2:08.72. Yates missed tying her personal best mark by .01 seconds. Volunteer assistant coach Shayla Houlihan competed in the steeplechase on Friday night as well. She finished first in her heat and first overall with a new lifetime personal best of 10:03.26. This time also gives her the "A" standard for the U.S. Outdoor Championships to be held in mid June. Her previous best was set one year ago at the same meet when she ran 10:29. |
