Description THE BUDGETER is a computer program that serves as an electronic ledger. Designed for home use, THE BUDGETER provides a user-friendly atmosphere to monitor the flow of funds. It simplifies user-computer interaction by prompts and appropriate error messages.THE BUDGETER allows the user to - create a personal budget structure, - add to or delete from the budget structure,- enter credits and debits for each category of budget, - control environmental features (tone, inverse video, type-ahead, and flashing), and - save or cancel changes made during a budgeting session. THE BUDGETER automatically - maintains credit/debit totals for the present month and year-to-date, - computes totals for one or all budgeting areas, and - maintains a history of all budget changes for future reference. THE BUDGETER was written in Microsoft BASIC for an IBM PC compatible system. The program requires one disk drive and at least 45K RAM. THE BUDGETER's code includes a main routine and 36 subroutines. Sequential and random files are used to save data from one budgeting session to the next.
