Description John Jenkins' first rock house in Newton. All of his three houses have small cellars with an outside window which opens. This helped him to elude federal agents seeking to arrest known polygamists. However, he did serve time for "Unlawful Cohabitation" from Nov. 19, 1887 to April 1888 and paid a $300 fine.
