Description Dr Marcus was born in 1916. Dr Marcus received his PhD from the University of Michigan where he was an instructor in bacteriology. Dr Marcus came to the University of Utah in 1949 where he served as professor of bacteriology and immunology. In addition to teaching, research and hospital service, Dr Marcus was a consultant to the Veterans Administration, United States Public Health Service, and the Utah State Department of Health. Dr Marcus was an examiner and member of the American Board of Microbiology, the American Association of Immunologists and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Dr Marcus was a National Institutes of Health Research Career Rewardee. Dr Marcus retired in 1981 as Emeritus Professor of Bacteriology and Immunology. Dr Marcus died in 2008.
