Description Dr Stevens was born in 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr Stevens received his both his B.S. (1956) and his Ph.D. (1962) from the University of Utah. Dr Stevens was Instructor at the University of Utah in Anatomy (1962); Assistant Professor (1964); Associate Professor (1968) and Professor of Anatomy (1974). Dr Stevens was appointed Associate Dean of Research in 1981. Dr Stevens served twice as Interim Dean of the School of Medicine from 1988-1991 and Dean from 1993-1996. Dr Stevens was also Vice President for the Health Sciences. Dr Stevens retired from active teaching in 1997. Dr Stevens was principle investigator for a National Cancer Institute study examining the link between the incidence of leukemia and radioactive fallout on residents in Southwestern Utah from nuclear weapons testing in Nevada. Dr Stevens died in 2004.
