Subject Chapels--Glines--The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Description With the steady growth of the Glines area it became necessary for a new chapel. In 1943 Bishop John B.Eaton authorized a building committee, headed by Don Batty, to organize fund raisers for the new chapel. In 1944 every man and boy of the ward worked during the summer months to get lumber from the mountains. A dance was also held at the Imperial Hall in February of that same year. Woodey Searle sponsored the dance and all the proceeds were donated to the building. The new building was dedicated July 24, 1949 by President David O. McKay, counselor in the first presidency of the church. The new Glines Chapel islocated at 1510 West Hwy 40 and was constructed at about $150,000.
