Description University of Utah Health Care's Exceptional Patient Experience was an initiative devised to improve the patient satisfaction. To reach this goal, physicians had their patient satisfaction scores benchmarked against a national data set. Physicians received a scorecard that compared them with their department peers. As a result, patient satisfaction rates improved significantly, clinics ran more efficiently, and the increased transparency between providers transformed the healthcare experience.
