Recorded on a sunny afternoon at approx. 8,800 ft. elevation; According to the recordist, "The male toad had finished amplexing a female when she finished laying her eggs and crawled under a small shrub near the shore. He produced the sound recorded when I moved in closely to take pictures of him. This does not sound like the advertisement call and might be some type of encounter call."
