Description ambient recording
Note Field notes: 1k tone @ beginning = 64dBA at mic input (for calibration) Late spring. Weather conditions extreme during any hour (cold, windy, snow, rain, warm). Former hunting camp where wildlife generally shy of humans. No predators or large megafauna seen over 10 day period on site. Early morning. Because light is in shadow behind mtns to the N of camp, the birds seem to like this time of day to perform some kind of dawn chorus. Flowing water in bkg. Wind comes up at 43:30 (approx) and continues through rest of take… Season: Spring; Climate: Dry (cyclical); Weather: Light wind (to 10MPH); Temp.: 38F; Altitude: 2784 feet; Biome: Arctic; Terrestrial habitat: Boreal-tiaga-tundra; Species heard: Willow Ptarmigan; Hoary Redpoll; Tree Sparrow; White-crowned Sparrow; Savannah Sparrow; Lesser Yellowlegs; Upland Sandpiper (distant); Local time: 1:29AM
