Collection Inventory +/-Biographical Note/Historical Note +/-The Student Affairs Office at Westminster College was responsible for student orientation and worked with student government to prepare student handbooks each year. Beginning in 1983, the name of the office changed to the Student Services Office. The name has changed once again, now to Student Life Office. The director of the Office of Residence Life reports to the Dean of Students in the Student Life Office. Several Westminster College webpages provide students with orientation, housing, and student services information: Content Description +/-This collection consists of residence life records from Westminster College, Salt Lake City. The materials date from 1962-2008 and were created or collected by the Office of Residence Life and Student Life Office (earlier called the Student Affairs Office and Student Services Office). There are residence hall floor plans and handbooks, residential students telephone directories, and records of the Distinguished Residents Program. The residence hall floor plans (Box 1, Folder 1) are undated. The residential students telephone directories (Box 1, Folder 2) in the collecton date 1992-1994, Fall and Spring 1998, Summer 2000, Spring 2001, Spring and Fall 2005, Spring and Fall 2006, Spring 2007, Spring and Fall 2008. The Distinguished Residents Program records (Box 1, Folder 3) contain a description of the program, an invitation, and correspondence dated August 19, 1985 from Dean of Students G.D. Fitzer to Gordon Baer regarding his distinguished residency from November 10-16, 1985. The residential hall handbooks (Box 1, Folder 4) include a "Men's Dorm Handbook, 1962-63", an undated "Hogle and Ferry Hall Handbook" addressed to residents from the Association of Women's Residence Halls, and a "Residence Hall Handbook, 1984".
