Guide to the Westminster College invitations

This collection, dating from 1916 onward, contains a variety of invitations created for special events associated with Westminster College, Salt Lake City, Utah. Each invitation includes the name of the event, date, time, location, and any special notations pertaining to the event; a few of the invitations are undated.

Commencement invitations make up a large portion of the materials (duplicates of those found in the Commencement publications collection (ACC-100)). Aside from the basic information aforementioned, names of special guests and those receiving honorary degrees were also included. Another significant part of the collection consists of invitations to the annual summer scholarship event, along with an enclosure in which to RSVP and contribute to the College. These dinners are themed, as reflected in the invitations themselves (i.e. City Slickers, Under the Boardwalk, Salmon and Jazz, and Manhattan Magic). Other invitations are designated for special events around campus, including: Nunemaker Good Friday Service, Ellipsis unveiling, International Fest, guest and distinguished residents speakers.

This collection of invitations provides insight into common campus activities, as well as highlighting priorities of the various organizations on campus. Many invitations are for annual events displaying the traditions, both changing and steadfast, at Westminster College.

Gaps in the collection: there are no invitations for the period 1951-1977.
