Henceforth we shall be able to spread ourselves to better advantage, and hope the increase in the amount of material presented will be appreciated by all concerned.
* * *
THE First Congregational Church, as shown in our last issue, is a beautiful structure. We present herewith cuts of a few of the others in connection with Dr. McNiece's article. These are representative of the best our city affords. Many of the rest, however, (there are nearly thirty in all) are very modest in appearance, and some of them poorly adapted to church purposes.
* * *
Why Not Affiliate?

A note on another page records the recent action of one of our sister societies of the Methodist denomination. The fraternal spirit therein manifested has been supplemented by many kind words and expressions of good will on the part of their pastor, Rev. A. H. Henry. We understand that they have agreed together, pastor and league, to hold no entertainment or other attraction until after our "Rally." Such actions are highly commendable, and to show that their assurances of co-operation are fully appreciated a plan has been proposed whereby their active participation in the arrangements may be had. An honorary member of the Committee of '97 from the Methodist denomination is among the possibilities. A slight change in name-Epworth League of Christian Endeavor-and affiliation with the local union would bring them into our permanent fellowship. And why may it not be so?
* * *
The Committee of '97.

The Committee of '97 are a hard working company of people. A visit to their last meeting revealed the magnitude of their undertaking. To properly entertain five thousand or more people requires money. How to obtain a sufficient amount is the first and the greatest problem. The local societies are doing nobly in the way of subscriptions, but much more than they can possibly furnish will be needed. It is quite probable that the business men will yet aid materially. We expect to see at least $1,000.00 raised and expended in the aggregate. The Chairman of the Entertainment Committee is inclined to consider her task scarcely less formidable-providing meals for the vast number expected. It can be readily understood how much the quantity, quality and regularity of the same will affect the success of the enterprise. In fact, all fifteen of the committee are planning and scheming night and day against great odds to bring forth the best results, not for pay, nor for honor, nor glory, but in the Master's name-"for Christ and the Church."

UTAH Endeavorers will be pleased to learn that Bingham has now a live society which is meeting with much encouragement from the towns-people. Deacon Randolph of the First Baptist Church, Salt Lake City, had been holding services there for some time previous to its organization. Mr. Harrington, the school teacher, is its president, and Dr. and Mrs. Straup are efficient helpers. Although its membership is large it is mostly an associate one, and furnishes an open door of blessed labor to its promoters.

|
