Further Information This photograph is a copy of the original and is in fairly good condition. On the back of the photo, inscribed in pencil, is: "Robert Gibson McNiece", "1897-1913". There is also yellow adhesive brushed onto the back of the photo. McNiece served as the Dean of Westminster College from 1897 until his death in 1913. He was born on January 10, 1839 in Topsham, Northern Vermont. He received an A.B. from Dartmouth College, a B.S. from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a D.D from Knox College. Before serving as the Dean of Westminster College he was a Principal at Fort Wayne High School before finishing his schooling to become a Minister of The First Presbyterian Church of Salt Lake City for nearly twenty years. McNiece was one of the nine original trustees for the proposed college with his involvement he was elected as the President of the Board of Trustees and played an important role in finalizing the College. He died on October 3, 1913.
