A Wasatch Academy Classroom

A classroom photograph of twenty-three students and their female instructor. The class is posed sitting at what appears to be double seated desks and looking straight at the camera. The instructor is standing at the back of the room next to the blackboard, and is dressed in a black dress. The students are dressed in various assortments of light and dark colored dresses, blouses, pants, shirts, ties, and suite coats. The classroom walls are covered with various articles. Along the back wall is a blackboard which is full of cursive handwriting. Hanging atop of the blackboard are pictures of what appear to be U.S. presidents. An oval formation of portraits encircles George Washington who hangs center. The only discernable portrait in the oval formation is of Abraham Lincoln. A larger portrait of an unknown person hangs to the left outside the oval formation. On the wall to the left is a window. The bottom (larger) portion has the shade pulled down. The top (smaller) portion has a glaring light illuminating from it. Next to the window is mounted a clock and below the clock is what appears to be a wall display of two flags mounted and framed in a wooden frame. A lantern with a shade hangs from the ceiling. The foreground consists of an organ at far left and a desk directly at right. The organ has an open piece of sheet music on its top and the desk is covered with books shelved neatly on either end with a dark colored book lying in the center.
