Title The Jordan River Corridor: A Case for Stewardship

Subject MACL
Description This project examines components of stewardship programs and key factors needed to implement a sustainable stewardship program for the Jordan River Corridor in Salt Lake City, Utah. For my research, I conducted three separate focus groups, two of which consisted of municipal leaders and one that consisted of community members who reside within 1-10 miles of the Jordan River. The data collected illuminates the need for successful and sustainable stewardship programming along the entire span of the river. The study demonstrates what can be done along the Jordan River to encourage active engagement and stewardship by community members including: youth, businesses and political leaders to benefit the entire river corridor.
