Description According to some estimates, human trafficking is the fastest growing area of organized crime(United Nations, 2002). The purpose of this project is to educate and bring awareness to a vulnerable population that is homeless youth, which is a primary source of the sex trade, in hopes of putting an end to sex trafficking. Furthermore, I seek to provide information for organizations that intend to work with and implement their own curriculum with this population. The objective of this project is to gain an inside perspective from those who know best in the field of sex trafficking and homeless youth, and to synthesize their ideas, perspectives, and knowledge into a single manual. This was achieved through a qualitative study with open-ended questions and semi-structured interviews to allow personal feed back. To gain further understanding of the target population, which is homeless youth and the dangers of sex trafficking, I interviewed a member of law enforcement, two state caseworkers, a former survivor of sex trafficking, as well as a local non-governmental organization who provides services for homeless youth. By linking the population of homeless youth to the dangers of sex trafficking I provide a different view through research into what is working and where gaps still exists.
