Subjects: Mahon's early interest in mining, prospecting and the boom, Montezuma Creek, naive prospectors, red-hot claims, development, Peate claims, the Happy Jack mine, Navajo miners, the "red-headed woman," milling, the Sandy mine, a job with the Bureau of Land Management, bighorn sheep sightings, hunts, water, a ewe named Mabel, lambs, Father Escalante (79 pages).
