Description Utah Foreign Language Review (UFLR), 1997, 212 pages. Topic for this issue is Perspectives on Otherness. "This journal was founded with the idea that it would provide a forum for academic work and creative writing-written in any language on Earth- dealing either directly or tangentially with the critical issues that arise with the study of literature as a form of cultural production. It is perhaps the only such venue existent, and certainly the only one organized and executed entirely by graduate students. There is no monologic theoretical or ideological paradigm behind the selection of work, unless it might be said (as it could) that the desire to foster interdisciplinary, cross-cultural, and multi-linguistic modes of analysis is itself an agenda." -- from Editor's Note, page i.
