Description CIDP is an immune-mediated disease that causes segmental demyelination and sometimes hypertrophy of cranial, radicular and peripheral nerves. Hypertrophy of nerves is usually a finding of no additional clinical significance. In rare instances, hypertrophic nerves, including intraorbital in location, can mimic mass lesions with resultant clinical manifestations.
