Description |
Studio portrait (standing) of Native American (Yampah Ute) chief Nick-a-a-god (Green Leaf). His hair falls loose to his chest. He wears metal hoop earrings and a multi-strand hair pipe choker necklace with contrasting stations. His v-neck buckskin tunic has long sleeves with undulating edges and inset designs at the wrists. He wears a ring. His tunic has flared shoulder panels painted with small repeating chevrons, and a bodice with wheel designs on it. His undergarment also has a repeating chevron design at the throat. He wears a peace medallion on a chain. Under the leather tunic is a check gingham shirt. His buckskin leggings have elaborate bead designs in a scallop pattern from hip to ankle, with flared and fringed side panels that drape to the floor. His moccasins are embroidered with contrasting bead designs. |
