Description Dr Young was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1905. He received both his B.S. from Northwestern University in 1929 and his M.D. in 1930. Dr Young was Instructor in Medicine at Northwestern University (1933-1935); Associate Professor (1935-1938); Assistant Professor (1938-1946). Dr Young was on active duty from 1943-1945 returning as Director of Student Health at Northwestern 1945-1946. Dr Young became the first full-time Dean of the new, four-year school of medicine at the University of Utah in 1946 until stepping down in 1949. Dr Young returned to Northwestern that year to become Dean and Professor of Medicine until his retirement in 1970.
