Show Salt Lake City, Utah <br> 20 Nov 95 <br><br> My dear Dr. Jackson <br> A quorum of the Trustees met last evening Mr. Peyton for himself and his associates on condition that the college locate on the 250 acres, offer 50 acres and water supply to the Trustees for the purpose of the same, and 30 acres additional good farm land with water perhaps ½ mile beyond - in writing - which was formally accepted. The action cannot yet be made public, as the college and Mr. Peyton wish to secure other concessions from other lands around, that will share in the benefits to be derived from the location of the college there. It was thus sufficiently definite for your first talk with Mrs. Shaw. <br> Mr. McLain is trying to get a concession of 40 acres from a 160 acre lot, owned by a Presbyterian in Wisc. <br><br> You see the whole is full of delicate questions, through which the Lord <br><br> |
