Description |
Emery County Project Dedication - Utah. Trout were planted for the first time in the newly created Joes Valley Reservoir following the conclusion of dedication ceremonies for the Emery County Project which were held on the west shore of this reservoir July 7, 1966. 18,000 fingerling rainbow trout were planted at this time by the Utah Fish and Game Department. This was the first of several plantings which will put 140,000 trout into the reservoir. These trout were raised at the Loa Hatchery at Loa, Utah. The newly completed Joes Valley Dam, which formed this reservoir, may be seen in the background. State and National officials participated in the dedication ceremonies for the project. United States Senator Frank E. Moss; Congressman Laurence J. Burton, and Bureau of Reclamation Commissioner Floyd E. Dominy participated in the event. |
