Steinaker Dam Ground Breaking Ceremony

Joseph Anthony Steinaker is at the Steinaker Dam Ground Breaking Ceremony. Joe was born August 9, 1876 in Denver, Colorado. The Steinaker Family came to Vernal and had a home where the present day Steinaker Dam is. He is the son of John Jacob and Victoria Steinaker. He married Emma J. Searle in 1899. She passed away in 1903. By 1904 he then married the widowed wife of his brother-in-law, William Thomas Searle. Her name was Alice Maud Beeler Searle. They raised the two boys from the two marriages. They lived in Manila, Utah and he is buried in the Manila Cemetery. He died in 1967 shortly after the Steinaker Dam was finished.
