Show 3400 1423 those are Mr. Nims' personal property; as they belong to an early day, he prizes them very highly. THE SPECIAL MASTER: They will always be available for the use of the defendant. I think this word must mean " floats", and not " boats". He didn't have enough boats to lose all these that are mentioned. MR. COLLINS: I put that in in pencil, because I didn't know the float situation. I thought the stenographer had made a mistake. MR. FARNSWORTH: There is another place, on page 2 written in lead pencil, in this sentence: " But he got her safely on shore about a mile down stream so badly"-- the typist has it " crd"; It is written in lead pencil, " crushed." Mr. Hilton thinks that word is " scared", not " crushed"; we think it is " scared." The witness said nothing about anybody being crushed. MR. COLLINS: Do you remember that, Mr Nims, was it " badly scared"? MR. NIMS: The man in the boat, yes. MR. FARNSWORTH: Then this exhibit will go with the understanding that the word " float" as typed is correct, and not the lead pencil interlination, making the word " float", " boat." Is that correct? |
