Abstract Roth (b. 1982) was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was raised by his mother, originally from New Orleans, and his father, originally from Indianapolis; and was introduced to climbing at fourteen years of age. He gives a contrast between indoor and outdoor climbing, and discusses the progression and classification of climbing and bouldering over his twelve years of experience. Roth was spokesperson for Black Diamond during climbing competitions. Interview is part of the Utah Outdoor Recreation Project. Interviewer: Erik Solberg
