Description This study attempts to correlate some in vitro cell-substrate adhesion studies and in vivo thrombogenicity studies with a battery of in vivo cell-substrate experiments using the sparks mandril as an implantable device designed for the growth of autogenous reinforced artery grafts. The success of the mandril is contingent upon fast tissue ingrowth with a small inflammatory reaction, good cellular adhesion to the polymer substrate for strength and non-thrombogenic properties of the Dacron polymer.
