The elytra are longer than twice the pro thorax, narrowed at and sloping rapidly to the apex; the tails are more approximate than those of D . furcillatus (G'ylh.) ; moreover, they are short and almost straight. This species, by the shape of the elytra at the apex, is allied to D. erythropus (Rits.), but easily distinguished by the longer pro-rostrum, by the insertion of the antennse being more approximate to the base of the rostrum, and by the three apical joints being well distinct and separated.
