A The surveyed area at Hite, Utah, comprised about two sections of land; that wasn't in the regular subdivision; it was odd parts of those sections. Q Where is it with reference to Hite? A It is around Hite, including the old town of Hite, the old location of Hite. Q On both sides of the river, or just on the Hite side? A On the north bank only, the right bank. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q Going down? A Going down stream. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Who was living on this ranch at the time you were there? A A man by the name of Humphreys, -- Thomas Humphreys, Jr. Q Did you observe whether or not he had any land in cultivation? A He had approximately forty acres under cultivation. Part of that was in hay, about twelve acres, as I remember. The remainder, merely plowed land; he also had a few fruit trees, grape vines. And berry vines. Q Was that irrigated land? |
