Description Germany is a country with profound historical significance and a unique fusion and coexistence of international cultures. There are infinitely diverse perspectives and 5 experiences to be found from the people who live there, each with their own story and significance, composing modern German identity. I created a series of work based on my research of contemporary German artists, including foreign artists living and working in German speaking countries, and my personal experience living in Germany over an extended period of time. The body of work is a series of mixed media pieces that include painting, printmaking and photography elements. This research includes what motivated and influenced the artists' selection of subject matter and media, including artistic, societal, and political influences. The culmination of my research was to understand contemporary artists' unique connection to German society and contribute my perspective and impressions of German life and identity as a foreigner.
