Attendees from almost every continent attended. T he European Neuro-Ophthalmology Society (EUNOS) had its 14th fantastic meeting in Porto, Portugal, on the banks of the Douro River at the Alfândega Congress Centre. Porto is Portugal's second largest city, and its Historical Core is a World Heritage Site since 1996. The first day, Sunday, was an outstanding Optic Nerve Symposium held in conjunction with the fourth European Optic Nerve (EUPON) Network meeting, chaired by Patrick Yu Wai Man, MD, PhD. At the EUNOS meeting, there was something for everyone! The meeting was divided into lectures, keynotes, interactive panel discussions, poster sessions, and teaching sessions. Three keynote lectures highlighted each day including functional MRI by Miguel Castelo-Branco from Coimbra, Portugal; ocular myasthenia gravis by Amelia Evoli from Rome, Italy; and tales from the neuro-ophthalmology clinic by Neil Miller, Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Sessions included MR in multiple sclerosis and associated disorders, ischemic neuro-ophthalmic conditions, neurodegenerative disorders, pediatric neuro-ophthalmology, and hot topics. Interactive teaching sessions focused on cases with important learning points, including optic neuropathies (namely, Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy), eye movements, optical Seay and Digre: J Neuro-Ophthalmol 2020; 40: e9-e10 coherence tomography in neuro-ophthalmologic conditions, and emergent clinical cases in neuro-ophthalmology. The social program was another time to enjoy with neuroophthalmologic colleagues from around the world. The opening night was a welcome reception along the banks of the Douro River outside the conference center. The final event was a tour of the Port Wine Cellars of Cálem, and a festive dinner with entertainment from a medical student group from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto. The EUNOS president, Professor Klara Landau, gave opening and closing remarks. There was an update of the journal Neuro-ophthalmology, published by Taylor and Francis with editors Walter Jay, MD and Simon Hickman, MD, PhD. It is now cited on PubMed. e10 There was a record attendance with over 500 participants from 45 countries. The organizing committee lead by Dália Meira (Fig. 2) assured us of a thoughtful well-organized event. It was really worth the trip to meet our wonderful European and international neuro-ophthalmic colleagues. Consider attending the EUNOS meeting in 2 years in Birmingham, England, 2021.
