Abstract In a 1991 interview with Joe Arave, Richard Bird (b. 1929), Engineer for Idaho, Utah, and Nevada discusses his work inspecting all ski lift facilities at resorts on Forest Service land with an emphasis on Utah resorts (Snowbird and Solitude) and the evolution of ski lift technology.
