Show 114 did they operate those boats up and down the river during that two years? A Well, they made one trip right after another; trips every few days. Q They had a regular schedule, did they not? A No, no regular schedule. They had a certain amount of equipment to take down, and as soon as they got back from one trip they would load up and start on another. Q I see; but during that two years' time, they went up and down the river how many times a week, would you say, on an average? A I could not say. Some weeks they would not go at all, and other weeks-- oh, they might possibly make a couple of trips in a week when they were running one boat. They ran two boats for a while. Q I see. An any rate, during that two years that you had personal knowledge of the traffic there at Moab, there were hundreds of trips made in carrying passengers and merchandise up and down the river from Moab; is that not true? Mr. Blackmar: I object to that, because the witness has not said there were one hundred. Mr. Farnswouth: I have asked him, is that not true? He has said that sometimes it would be a week, and at other times two or three times a week. Now twice a week is 104 times a year. By Mr. Farnsworth: 2074 |
